The Happier Horizons program is a 30-session group education program created by Adrian McInman.

Clients increase their ability to make and maintain changes that result in greater happiness.

Clients are presented research findings focusing on happiness, psychology, and values.

Clients are taught thought-changing, relaxation, and lifestyle techniques to directly increase their levels of happiness.

Clients are provided information from four fields of psychology (clinical, positive, social, and sport psychology).

Clients learn to do the things that make them truly happy, while living by their values. This is accomplished by helping clients develop a clearer appreciation of who they are (especially their values), challenging them to work out what really makes them happy, and encouraging them to work out how to do the things that make them happy. Hand in hand with this self-enlightenment, clients are taught how to cultivate their courage to overcome their fears, so that they can simply do the things that make them happy, while living by their values.

"We Can Change" cake

Clients are challenged substantially to think about life, happiness, and their ability to change. They are encouraged to express their opinions and participate fully, while having the security of knowing that they have the right not to have to contribute or divulge personal details.

Conducting a Session
Clients learn the five-minute Happier Horizons Thriving Habit, which combines diaphragmatic breathing, progressive muscular relaxation, meditation, mental imagery, thought stoppage, goal setting, a new appreciation of their values as a result of several sessions devoted to clarifying their values, with an affirmation they create as a result of several sessions devoted to Happiness and NOISE (Neuroticism, Optimism, Internal Locus of Control, Self-esteem, Extroversion).
